Monday, October 31, 2011: special opening of the Civic Museums

Special opening (with usual opening hours and admission fees) on Monday, October 31, 2011 for the Civic Museums.
The Museo della Repubblica Romana e della Memoria Garibaldina is open from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm, while the Planetarium and Astronomy Museum will be open from 9.00 am to 2.00 pm with shows at 9.30 am, 11.00 am and 12.30 pm. Concessionary tickets are granted to MACRO (via Reggio Emilia) museum visitors, because of the exhibition dismantling.

Shows at the Planetarium:
9.30 am - Astroconcert "Classic"
11.00 am - Skyshows "Notturno Stellare"
12.30 pm - Skyshows "Vacanze Marziane"

September 24-25, 2011: Free admission to the Rome’s Municipal Museums for the European Heritage days

September 24-25, 2011, on the occasion of European Heritage Days, by the initiative of Roma Capitale, Department of Cultural Affairs and Historical Centre - Superintendence of Cultural Heritage, Roman citizens and tourists will have the opportunity to visit free of charge, during the normal opening hours, the Museums belonging to the Civic Museum Network (organization and museum services provided by Zètema Progetto Cultura), according to the following provisions:

September 24, 2011: free admission to Roman citizens in all the museums belonging to the Civic Museum network::
Musei Capitolini, Centrale Montemartini, Mercati di Traiano - Museo dei Fori Imperiali, Museo dell'Ara Pacis, Museo di Scultura Antica Giovanni Barracco, Museo della Civiltà Romana, Museo delle Mura, Villa di Massenzio, Museo della Repubblica Romana e della memoria garibaldina, Museo di Roma, Museo Napoleonico, MACRO and MACRO Testaccio, Museo Carlo Bilotti, Museo Pietro Canonica, Museo di Roma in Trastevere, Musei di Villa Torlonia, Planetario e Museo Astronomico, Museo Civico di Zoologia.
All other visitors will have the opportunity to visit free of charge only the following museums belonging to the Civic Museum Network:

August 15, 2011: special opening of the Civic Museums of Rome, in the usual opening hours and with the usual admission fees. Exception:

- Planetario e Museo Astronomico: open for the evening shows at 9.00 pm and 10.30 pm;

April 24 (Sunday) and 25 (Monday), for Easter holidays, the museums belonging to the Civic Museum Network, managed by Zètema Progetto Cultura, are open with usual opening hours and admission charges.

Exceptions: on Monday 25, the Planetairum is open from 9.00 am to 2.00 pm (shows at 9.30 am, 11.00 am and 12.30 pm) and Museo della Repubblica Romana e della memoria Garibaldina di Porta San Pancrazio, open from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm.

Macro Testaccio and the Pelanda are closed.

On April 21, 2011 for the 2764th Birthday of Rome, the museums belonging to the Civic Museum Network are free of charge, with normal opening hours.
Exceptions:
- Capitoline Museums and the exhibition "Ritratti. Le tante facce del potere" where one must purchase a ticket (adults/concessions: € 3,50; ridottissimo: € 2,00 for people usually entitled to free admission; free of charge entitled only to children under 6 years of age, elementary and intermediate school groups, disabled people and a carer and Roma Pass and Roma&Più Pass card holders if used to claim one of the first two free admissions);
- Planetarium and Museo Astronomico: adults: € 7,50, concessions: € 5,50.

For the XIII Culture Week (April 9-17, 2011) the museums of the Civic Newtork are free of charge and with normal opening hours.

2010 European Heritage Days – Free Admission to the Civic Museums Network

The Civic Museums Network joins the European Heritage Days on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26, September 2010.
Therefore, the admission to the Civic Museums Network is free, with the exception of Macro Testaccio and at the Planetarium.

Temporary exhibition fees apply to museums hosting major exhibitions. Free of charge admission is granted only to eligible persons, while people entitled to gratuity at the Capitoline Museums must purchase a Ridottissimo ticket of € 2.00.

The Museums of the City of Rome in the Roma Pass

Roma Pass is the Capital's tourism-cultural card that extends beneficial rates and services to all those who want to visit museums and archaeological sites in both the city and province of Rome.

The Roma Pass, that costs 30 Euro and is valid for 3 consecutive days, includes free entry to the first two museums or archaeological sites that are part of the network and free use of the entire public transport system as well as reduced entry and discounted rates for any other museums and sites visited thereafter and for theatrical and dance events and other tourist services too.

How to buy the Roma Pass

- Contact the Call Centre at +39 06 0608 (max 20 passes at a time, payment by American Express, Visa and Mastercard).
